GRW designed the conversion and expansion of Versailles’s 3.0 MGD oxidation ditch plant to a new 4.5 MGD sequencing batch reactor (SBR) facility with a peak daily flow capacity of 12.5 MGD. The project consists of preliminary treatment, wet weather flow storage, biological treatment, biological nutrient removal, disinfection, and sludge management facilities. Biological treatment is provided by a new sequencing batch reactor (SBR) system consisting of four (4) basins to provide both biological treatment and clarification in each basin. This process eliminates the need for external clarifiers and return activated sludge pumping.

The WWTP is controlled/monitored via eight (8) Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLC’s, located sporadically around the plant site, with the PLC’s networked via a fiber optic loop.

Supporting components include:

  • Preliminary Treatment Building
  • Electrical Building
  • Nonpotable Water System Building
  • Standby Generator.
