Federal Correctional Institution & Prison Camp Medical & Dental Facilities, Aliceville, AL
GRW led the design team for the design-build of a women's medium-security Federal Correctional Institution and minimum-security Federal Prison Camp located near Aliceville, Alabama. This $188 million project has a gross building area of approximately 624,312 SF, and can house approximately 1,790 inmates.
Among the prison's numerous components is a 12,324 SF medical services building, containing medical and dental suites, located within the secure compound. The medical suite includes:
- X-ray room
- Clinical laboratory
- Procedure/treatment room
- Numerous triage/exam rooms
- Mammography exam room
- Sterilization room
- Optometry/audiology room
- Pharmacy
The dental suite includes a dental operatory room with four chairs, dental office, and a dental lab. The camp core building, located outside the secure compound, also houses a medical/dental suite.
