Located at a former Western Kentucky Parkway toll booth site, this interchange is located at the Parkway/Interstate 69 at KY 109 and lies 2.5 miles north of Dawson Springs and approximately 24.5 miles southwest of Madisonville. To mitigate unsafe vehicular site distance and weaving movements created when the toll booths were removed, GRW redesigned the interchange's geometrically-deficient loop ramps to a diamond configuration. GRW prepared an Interchange Justification Study and preliminary plans during the first phase of the design. After the approval for the preliminary plans, GRW completed the final interchange construction plans, which included surveying, capacity analysis of the interchange, roadway/ramp final design, drainage design, final right-of-way and utility plans and deed descriptions. This project was completed for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 2.
