Centre College Football Field

GRW and Vescio’s SportsFields were the design-build team for the newly renovated Cheek Field at Centre College in Danville, KY. This project consisted of the removal of the college’s existing grass football field and replacing it with a synthetic turf field expanded and configured for football, soccer and field hockey teams. The new synthetic surface is 86,400 square feet in area and is surrounded with 47,500 square feet of existing asphalt track and field area. The synthetic surface was designed with a trenched grid drainage system to capture both the runoff and infiltrated rain, along with runoff from the adjoining track surfaces. One of the primary goals of the college was to be able to play on the new surface in the 2009 season.
