Churchill Downs Racetrack, Louisville, KY
At the iconic Churchill Downs racetrack in Louisville, GRW has completed several improvements projects, including the following:
- GRW designed a training chute that allows trainers to school young horses in the starting gate by giving them a way off the main track during training hours to avoid conflicts. The project was completed in a short time frame so it would be ready for horses being shipped in to begin training prior to the Derby.
- GRW performed a detailed track survey of both the dirt and turf tracks; this included all racing and utility features. The work assists in continued maintenance and plans for future track improvements.
