c. Occupational license fees shall apply for Jessamine county and the city of

Nicholasville. See section 003143.

E. Project Description:

1. The project scope includes Exterior Renovations of the existing Historic Jessamine

County Courthouse, located at 101 N. Main Street Nicholasville, KY. The work covers

Structural Repairs and Framing replacement in the Historic Bell Tower, Cupola, and

Historic Roofing system. Architectural work includes roof replacement of the existing

asphalt roofing, replacement of associated copings, repair and coating of the Historic

Terne Metal Roofing, replacement of the Bell Tower and Cupola flooring, Painting of all

exterior exposed elements, and Sealing of the Brick / Stone Masonry.

b. Historic Bell and Cupola Tower Floor Repairs: Flat Seam Metal w/ Liquid

Roofing Acrylic Coating

c. Renovation Roof Repairs: SBS Modified Bitumen Roofing System

d. Cupola Structure: Floor Lumber Replacement, Exterior Sheathing, Structural

Lumber Replacement, Steel Bracing Repairs

e. Metals Coatings / Repairs: Liquid Acrylic Coating

f. Metal Ornamentation, Cornice, Banding: Repair and Anchorage

g. Brick / Stone Sealing: Breathable Sealer

h. Brick Bracing: New Steel bracing for top of wall

1.4 BID SUBMITTAL AND OPENING

A. Owner will receive sealed lump sum bids until the bid time and date at the location given below.

Owner will consider bids prepared in compliance with the Instructions to Bidders issued by

Owner, and delivered as follows:

2. Bid Time: 4:00 p.m., local time.

B. Bids will be thereafter publicly opened and read aloud

 

1.5 BID SECURITY

A. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. No

bids may be withdrawn for a period of 90 days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right

to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. Nothing in these bid

documents shall obligate Owner to enter into a contract with any bidder. Owner reserves the right

to reject any or all bids.

1.6 PREBID MEETING

A. Prebid Meeting: See Document 002513 "Prebid Meetings."

B. Prebid Meeting: A Prebid meeting for all bidders will be held at Jessamine County Fiscal Court

– 101 N. Main Street on Tuesday, May 28th, 2019 at 9:00 a.m., local time. Prospective prime

bidders are strongly recommended to attend.

1. Bidders' Questions: Architect will provide responses at Prebid conference to bidders'

questions received up to two business days prior to conference.

1.7 DOCUMENTS

A. Printed Procurement and Contracting Documents: Obtain on or after May 14th, 2019, by

contacting GRW’s Online Plan Room (http://www.grwinc.com/plan-room). Only complete sets

of documents will be issued. Procurement of documents from GRW is required to Bid on the

project from all Prime Bidders.
